This was the very first quilt I made as an adult. I hand pieced and quilted it for my eldest daughter years ago. I dropped her off at Sea-Tac airport this morning. She's flying to Austin, Texas to live: 2187 miles away; 4 hour by air, 34 hours 38 minutes driving time; 98 degrees (57 degrees here); money for a few months until she finds a job; 3 suitcases of clothes, 2 boxes of 'things' and 2 boxes of books; and her quilt and our love. I applaud her adventurousness and am excited for all she will soon experience, but as her mom I am sad to see her leave and will miss her.

  2. Thanks for the support. I knew you would understand, sympathize and applaud. Parenting is certainly not for the faint of heart -and it never ends, does it?
